I'm so excited! My first e-book Dreams Do Come True will be released next Friday (April 24) by White Rose Publishing. This inspirational romance is my first successful attempt at writing romance, and I hope to have many more follow. Anyone who knows me can tell you I'm a sucker for happily-ever-after endings.
Want to know more about the book? Check out the blurb and excerpt:
Blurb: Aspiring author Cassie Teague has been rejected…again. As she considers giving up her dream of getting published, a handsome editor walks into her life and makes her wonder if God has more in store for her than just writing. Acquisitions editor David Jameson wants more than just Cassie’s book. But will office politics destroy his hope for the future?
Excerpt: Gayle glanced at the envelope in Cassie’s hand and nodded toward the vacant end of the counter. Cassie went to the seat at the very end and laid the envelope in front of her. She needed Gayle’s moral support when she opened this one. The publisher she’d submitted to was the perfect match for her book, and she’d spent nearly a month on the submission package to make sure it was perfect. Gayle finally finished serving the elderly man and joined Cassie. “Be brave.” Cassie managed a weak smile and prayed for strength as she picked up the envelope. A moment later, she pulled out her submission package and what appeared to be a form letter. She got as far as “We regret…” before she dropped the stack of papers on the counter and lowered her head to her hands with a moan. “Not again!” The strip of bells hanging on the door jangled before Gayle could reply. She gave Cassie’s arm a consoling pat, and then went to tend the new customer. Cassie brushed her long hair from her eyes as she lifted her head and reached for the rejection letter, hoping it contained some clue as to why they didn’t want her novel. Her gaze briefly went to the new customer. His gorgeous movie cowboy appearance caught her attention and made her heart do a two-step. Dark-haired and blue-eyed, he stood at least six foot two and had wide shoulders that tapered down to a trim waist. He’d tucked his white shirt into a pair of jeans that fit oh-so-perfectly on his hips. The sleeves were rolled up to reveal tanned, well-toned forearms. He smiled as he spoke to Gayle, and Cassie decided receiving another rejection letter was almost worth it to see this amazing specimen of a man.
Remember, Dreams Do Come True by E.A. West will be available April 24, 2009 from White Rose Publishing.

| I must confess. I, like so many others, have jumped the Xanga ship. Due to a need for more exposure (for my blog!), I defected to Blogger last year. If anyone's interested, the address for the blog I update twice a week is: thewestcorner.blogspot.com. I blog mostly about writing/publishing related things over there, but every once in a while I'll include something about what I've been up to lately. The best way to find out what I've been doing is to send me and email and ask. Or even better, call me! Those of you who actually care about what goes on in my remarkably unexciting life know how to get a hold of me. For everyone else...I guess you'll just have to deal with the occasional tidbit that shows up on my blog or even more rarely on here.

| This is more than just St. Patrick's Day around my house. It's also adoption day for my dog. We've had her eleven years now, and I'm looking forward to a few more years! She is such an awesome mutt, er, Sharpei cross. Those expressive brown eyes, the cute way her forehead wrinkles when she worries... Oh yeah, I've based a couple of furry characters on her. Not so much her looks as her sweet, loyal personality.
Can you tell I love my dog? If I think about it in September, I'll tell you how great my cat is. Gotta wait for his birthday, you know.
Hope everyone's having a great St. Patrick's Day!

| Good morning, good morning! We have talked the whole night through. Good morning, good morning to you.
Yeah, I know it's afternoon, but that song popped into my head as I logged on here so I had to share it. By the way, if you've never watched Singing in the Rain, you should. It so totally rocks!
In case you couldn't tell, I really don't have anything to say. I just felt bad about abandoning my Xanga. So, now that I've updated with this mind-numbingly dull post, I'll go away and let everyone get on with their lives.
Happy trails to you! Until we meet again...
